Outwood Academy Danum students have outstanding results again!
Students at Outwood Academy Danum in 2017 have once again achieved excellent grades in their A Level courses. Progress, given student starting points, surpasses previous years and our students have made on average 0.16 grades higher than expected in each A Level studied. Our students have achieved fantastic results: 13% of results are A* or A grade and over one third of all grades achieved are A*-B grade. The average grade for students studying vocational subjects is especially high at Distinction and Distinction *.
Julie Slater, Chief Executive Principal said, “we are delighted with the results our students have achieved this year which is testament to the incredible hard work of our students, their families, staff, governors and trust board at Outwood Academy Danum. I would like to particularly praise the work of the Principal, Jayne Gaunt and Simon Haveron and the 6th form team, for their exceptional leadership in helping our students to gain these life changing results”.
Every student has achieved personal success but to highlight just a few:
1. Mollie Gunning has attained three A* grades in A Level Mathematics, Statistics and Biology and A grade in A Level Chemistry. Mollie will now study Veterinary Medicine at Cambridge University.
2. Charlotte Baker attained two A* grades in A Level Art and Design and Art Graphics along with grade A in A Level Photography. Charlotte will now study Graphic Design at Sheffield Hallam University.
3. Matthew Cannon attained an A* in A Level Mathematics and three A grades in A Level Further Mathematics, Statistics and Physics and is going to study Mathematics at Durham University.
At this early stage the vast majority of students have already secured their places at university and in the remaining days we hope to place everyone in a university of their choice.
We are incredibly proud of our students and wish them every success for their futures.
