This June, rehearsals have gone underway for Outwood Academy Danum’s performance of COAL. The performance will be held at the York Barbican Theatre on 4th July 2018. COAL is a piece of drama, music and dance that has been devised by the performing arts team and accompanied by Outwood Academy Danum’s very own orchestra. The performance will be part of a wider whole trust performing arts celebration whereby all Outwood schools will be performing short pieces. Over 50 of Outwood Acadmey Danum’s young actors, dancers and musicians will be taking part in the 15 minute performance. COAL is a story deriving from our own local history of the coal mining industry. It follows a central character performed by sixth former Harry Wilson and his hard ordeal when the Pits closed down in the 1980’s. When asked what is the best bit of being in the COAL performance one student replied “being able to perform alongside other students in other schools” Please contact main reception for ticket details to come and support our extremely talented students.
