Having studied my degree at Carnegie and later qualifying as a PE teacher from Bedford I started my teaching career in Chesterfield. From there I moved to Edward Sheerien School in Barnsley where I was Head of both the PE and PSHE departments. I became a Head of Year in 2004 and also had the role of Work Related Learning and Enterprise Coordinator. In 2007 I attained my NPQH. In 2009 I was promoted at Carlton Community College to be Assistant-Vice Principal with responsibility for Care, Guidance and Support. In 2014 OGAT took control at Carlton and my role changed; I became AP for Deep Learning. Also at that time I took the decision to retrain as an English teacher. In the last four years I have worked as either an AP and later as VP across three Outwood academies in Deep Learning, Experience and Support. I am passionate about education and the difference that it can make to the lives of young people therefore I am thrilled to start as Vice Principal for Deep Learning and head of post-16 at Outwood Academy Danum and look forward to another successful year at an OGAT school.
